Staff Report
A fundraiser has been set up at Go Fund Me for homeowner Ruby Ann Birt and her grandson Connor, after the two lost their house in a fire the night of February 13.
Set up by community resident Regina Alexaieff and findable through a Facebook post on the Stanley Police Department website, the fundraiser had raised $1,035 of a $10,000 goal as of Tuesday morning.
Asked what motivated her to set up the fundraiser, Alexaieff said that she was new to town and wanted to help out. For those who may wish to donate items in place of money, they can be donated at the Stanley Police station. “Let’s pull together as a community,” the fundraiser at Go Fund Me says. “Anthing helps.”
206 East Second Avenue in Stanley after the fire.
