Oriole boys topple Regis in away game
Decided at the free throw line. That’s how Oriole boys varsity coach Tom Hause described last week’s win at the gym of the Eau Claire private school.
“We knew Regis would be improved from our first meeting," Coach Hause said after the game. “They were playing better basketball as a team this time around.” Nonetheless, it wasn’t enough.
“We were able to seal the victory on the free throw line,” Hause said of Thursday’s game with an end score of 48 – 42, played out inside as the weather outside saw a snowstorm hit. “We have been working on free throws in practice and focusing on getting to the line more in games,” Coach Hause said.
That preparation paid off paid off handsomely last Thursday, with 12 of the 48 total points scored by the Orioles made at the charity line. With Carsen Hause making one, Henry Hoel two, Lucas Smith three, and Brady Potaczek five, the free throw line, was the place to be last Thursday, including for pictures.
Up, over, and in the basket. The Oriole boys next play Fall Creek at Fall Creek this Friday, with varsity action tipping off at 7:30 p.m.
