Second half rebound a hopeful sign for future

Not the best outcome, but with elements to build on. That’s a way to describe how things went Thursday against Fall Creek for the Orioles. With a 5 – 1 record within the Western Cloverbelt Conference after the game’s outcome, Stanley-Boyd fell to Fall Creek 69 – 57, a sec ond half rebound not quite enough to make up for a first half point deficit. Coach Tom Hause shared his thoughts following the game play.

“We dug ourselves a pretty big hole and it was just too much to overcome,” he said. “The kids didn’t give up and we were able to cut the lead to seven with five minutes to go and that is something we can build off. We were able to play faster and more physical for that stretch withpositiveresults. Wewerebalancedin scoring again.

Going into the second half Thursday the Ori- oles were down by fifteen points against Fall

Creek at 36 – 21, while a second half perfor – mance equal to Fall Creek's first was offset by a 33-point showing on the Cricket’s part, sustaining their lead and moving Fall Creek forward.

As to game stats from Thursdays game, the Oriole boys had six fouls in the first half and 12 in the second, as compared with just one for Fall Creek in the first followed with nine in the second.

For the scoreboard Brady Potaczek took the lead in game points against Fall Creek, coming away with a series of eight two-pointers for 16 total towards the final score. Carsen Hause and Henry Hoel each registered 15 points for the game, while Lucas Smith scored eight and Landon Karlen scored three.
