Stanley-Boyd Community Blood Drive set for Monday

If you have an appointment, please make every effort to keep that appointment, but if you need to change or cancel your appointment, call Donella Christianson at 715-644-3638 or Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at 715-644-3665. If you haven’t made an appointment, there’s still time!

Help things go more smoothly at the drive and to save time, take time Monday morning to do the RapidPass. Just go to redcrossblood. org/rapidpass or google redcrossrapidpass.

The Red Cross asks that all individuals who have traveled to China, and its special administrative regions, Hong Kong and Macau to postpone their blood or platelet donation until 28 days following return to U.S. Beginning next week signage and donor educational materials on the coronavirus will be present at all Red Cross blood drives and donation centers across the country.

Donors must 17 years or older, weigh at least 110 pounds and feel well the day of donation. Sixteen-year-olds may donate, but must present a signed Red Cross consent form, available by contacting Donella at the above number.

Some tips for donors are to drink plenty of water, avoid caffeine in soda, coffee, and tea because caffeine dehydrates your body. Eat plenty of green vegetable, fruit and meat.

Donate blood on March 9. The need is constant, and the gratification is instant.
