Erin Hager, Kelly Lew, and Mayah Mahr have been busy at work with their STAR Project for Marshfield Children's Hospital. In October, they raised almost $1,500 from a coin war hosted in the elementary school. This money went towards twenty-one tie blankets and five nurse gift baskets filled with lots of goodies. These generous donations were delivered mid-December. They also plan on preparing a meal for pediatric nurses in March.
Siblings, Jade and Joseph Broughton, along with close friend Beatrix Bluhm's STAR Project has been very successful! In January, they baked and sold muffins to raise money for the Chippewa County Foster Care System. They were able to raise approximately $500 to put towards gift bags full of essentials for foster children. They will continue to fundraise for this cause by setting up a donation box.
To learn more about FCCLA and STAR Projects, come support these high school students and many others as they present their hard work at the FCCLA Project Fair on Monday, February 19th. The FCCLA Project Fair will be held in the Stanley-Boyd High School Library on February 19th starting at 5:30 pm and ending at 7:30 pm. About thirty groups of students will be attending the FCCLA STAR Project Regionals to present and compete with their projects on Wednesday, February 21st. The project fair will allow these students to prepare for their competition and gain confidence to compete. The Stanley-Boyd FCCLA hopes to see you there!
