Stanley-Boyd FFA was named the state winning Farm & Agribusiness Management Career Development Event Team at the State FFA Convention in Madison June 15 to 18. Team members include Derrick Lato, Dayne Trunkel, Kira Lato, and Grace Schmidt. The FFA advisor for Stanley-Boyd is Jordan Donnerbauer. The top individual was Jack Wendler of the Owen-Withee FFA. His advisors are Travis Engel and Caleb Green.
By competing, farm and agribusiness participants demonstrate their ability to analyze agricultural business management information, apply economic principles and concepts of business management, evaluate business management decisions, and work together cooperatively as a team.
Stanley-Boyd will now represent Wisconsin FFA in competition at the National FFA Career Development Events to be held in October in Indianapolis, Indiana during the 99th National FFA Convention. The Farm & Agribusiness Management CDE is sponsored on the state level by GreenStone Farm Credit Services.
The Farm and Agribusiness Management Career Development Event helps students learn business skills and apply economic principles to agricultural businesses. All CDEs engage students in developing their communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills to promote future career success.
Also at the state convention, the Stanley-Boyd FFA Chapter was named the state winning Nursery/Landscape Career Development Event Team. Team members included Olivia Bourget, Sydney Yates, Lucy Wundrow, and Melanie Stuttgen. The top individual was Owen Moore of the Mishicot FFA. His advisors are Jamie Propson and Katie Koeppel.
The Nursery/Landscape CDE tests students’ skills related to horticultural principles through plant identification of specimens by both their technical and common names, a multiple-choice test, and hands-on activities which include landscape drawing, interpersonal relations, and nursery operation practices.
Stanley-Boyd will now represent Wisconsin FFA in competition at the National FFA Career Development Events to be held in October in Indianapolis, Indiana during the 99th National FFA Convention. The Nursery/Landscape CDE is sponsored on the state level by Wisconsin Landscape Contractors Association.
All CDEs engage students in developing their communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills to promote future career success.
Finally from state competition in Madison, Stanley-Boyd FFA was named the state winning Forestry Career Development Event Team. Team members include Ryan Bowe, Jaylin Ducommun, Heidi Keeku, and Jameson Gindt. The top individual was Kathryn Winder from the Marshfield FFA Chapter. Her advisors are Tim Heeg and Mark Zee.
The Forestry Career Development requires students to demonstrate their skills in diagnosing forest disorders, managing forests and forest inventory, and applying approved silviculture practices.
Stanley-Boyd will now represent Wisconsin FFA in competition at the National FFA Career Development Events to be held in October in Indianapolis, Indiana during the 99th National FFA Convention. The Forestry Career Development Event is sponsored on the state level by the Wisconsin FFA Alumni & Supports.
This event offers students experience relevant to a career choice in forestry and natural resources. All Career Development Events engage students in developing their communication, decision-making, and teamwork skills to promote future career success.
