Sept.14
4:22 p.m.
A dog at large complaint was received. The dog’s owner was contacted and took custody of the dog. Nothing further. 6:36 p.m.
Police responded to an animal at large complaint. The animal was taken into custody and returned to its owner. Leah Ludwig, age 31, will again be cited for animal running at large.
8:04 p.m. Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop of a semi tractor trailer for operating after darkness with no headlights illuminated. Driver cited for open intoxicants and driving without a commercial motor license (non-resident). Driver determined to not be intoxicated and provided a ride to America Inn and Suites. Semi and trailer moved by A to Z Towing. 8:22 a.m.
Police responded to a check person requested in the 200 block of East Fourth Avenue. The building and area were checked and no issues were found.
Sept. 15
7:11 a.m. Ongoing issues with a disorderly young person. 10:06 a.m.
Complaint involving a young person at the Stanley- Boyd High School. 2:52 p.m.
Fire reported in the 500 block of East Murray Street in Boyd. Officer responded and stood by until no longer needed. 5:21 p.m.
A traffic complaint was received involving a semi deviating from the lane that exited at Stanley. Area checked and nothing observed. 9:07 p.m.
Traffic stop conducted for a moving violation. The driver was warned.
9:17 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation, with the result that
Meghann Hoag, age 25, was cited for Operating AfterSuspension.
10:08 p.m.
A traffic stop was conducted for multiple equipment violations, with the result that Bryce Nichols, age 22, was arrested for two outstanding warrants and issued a criminal citation for Operate After Revoked (Revoked Due to Alcohol).
Sept. 16
7:38 a.m.
Stanley Police were requested for an active alarm at a Stanley business. It was determined to be a false alarm. 8:23 a.m.
Stanley Police observed an ATV being operated on a road that was not posted as a route. ATV was stopped and the operator was warned.
11:52 a.m. Stanley Police were requested for a young person complaint at the Stanley- Boyd Elementary School.
4:55 p.m. Stanley K9 Officer Trey and handler requested to assist the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office.
5:09 p.m. Stanley Police were requested to assist the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department with an out of control young person. Officer responded and assisted as needed. 5:46 p.m.
Stanley Police requested for an out of control group home client who was agitated and had reportedly smashed a window. 7:31 p.m.
Stanley Police were requested for a child custody dispute in the 200 block of Helgerson Street. Caller was advised to petition the court to have custodial rights and times resolved.
8:45 p.m. Stanley Police were requested by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office for a wrong way driver on Highway 29. Officer later told to disregard as Clark County had stopped the vehicle in their county.
10:51 p.m. Stanley Police were requested by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office for a school bus going westbound in the eastbound lanes of Highway 29. School bus was located and determined to be traveling the correct direction in the correct lanes.
Sept. 17
12:42 a.m.
Stanley Police received a phone call at the police department of a possible domestic in progress in the 100 block fo East Sixth Avenue. Officer responded and made contact with all involved parties. Determined to be two young men just being loud.
2:14 a.m. Stanley Police were requested for a wrong way driver on Highway 29 at mile marker 99. Vehicle not located.
3:11 a.m.
Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle failing to stop at a stop sign. Driver verbally warned.
3:41 p.m. Stanley Police requested at the Cenex in Boyd for a check vehicle with open intoxicants. No vehicle located. 3:55 a.m.
Stanley Police requested by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office for a wrong way driver. Vehicle located and traffic stop conducted, with the result that Jose Guadalupe Vasquez-Gomez, age 26, was cited for driving the wrong way on a divided highway. 5:42 a.m.
Stanley Police requested by the Clark County Sheriff’s Officer for a car vs. semi at Higway 29 and Koser Avenue. Officer advised to disregard upon arrival. 7:26 a.m.
Stanley Police requested for an EMS call. Assistance given as needed.
11:33 a.m. Stanley Police requested for a funeral escort.
6:47 p.m. Police were requested for a 911 hang-up.
7:06 p.m. Stanley Police received a theft report in the 100 block of North Reynolds Street. Stolen item later returned to owner.
10:24 p.m. Police were requested for a bar fight at Twilite Zone Bar. Kyle Collis, age 26, was arrested and charged with Felony Bail Jumping, Battery and Disorderly Conduct.
Sept. 18
12:39 a.m.
Police observed a burning violation within the city. The person was warned.
12:45 a.m. Police were requested in the 100 block fo East Second Avenue for a criminal damage complaint. 12:46 a.m.
Police were requested for a criminal damage complaint in the 100 block of East Fourth Avenue.
1:08 p.m. Stanley Police were requested to respond to Twilite Zone Bar for a physical altercation.
Russell Dorn, age 42, was arrested and charged with 10 offenses.
Sept. 18 2:40 a.m. Police were requested for a criminal damage complaint.
3:32 a.m.
Police were requested for a domestic disturbance.
4:15 a.m. Stanley Police requested for a check vehicle call at Kwik Trip regarding someone sleeping in a vehicle parked in front of the air compressor.
7:03 a.m. Stanley Police were requested to respond to the parking lot at McDonalds for a person acting erratically. Contact was made and the person stated he had fallen asleep and woken up after being startled by something. Person was asked to move on and he complied. 7:27 a.m.
Stanley Police were requested for damage to a vehicle window in the 200 block of North Broadway. Incident under investigation. Report to follow.
11:47 a.m. Stanley Police were requested for a 911 call. Area of the call was checked and contact was made with people in the area with no problems being detected. 4:48 p.m.
Stanley Police were requested for a welfare check. The check was completed and everyone was fine. 6:23 p.m.
Police took report of criminal damage to property.
7:20 p.m. Stanley Police were out with a semi on the Boyd entrance ramp. Driver was advised that he was taking a mandatory reset and would be leaving soon.
Sept. 19
7:46 a.m.
A traffic stop was made for excessive speed in school zone, with the result that Shana Kinas, age 24, was issued a citation for speeding.
5:45 p.m.
Debris with nails in the roadway. Called removed the debris and advised that a white truck was loosing the debris as it continued east toward Thorp. Clark County was advised of the complaint.
Sept. 20
9:16 a.m.
A civil standby was requested while an appraiser was at the home. A man and woman were going through a divorce which resulted in tension, and the woman to ask for a standby. Officer stood by until the man left for an appointment. 6:42 p.m.
Police responded to report of spent ammunition found in a Boyd garage. Police arrived and determined the “ammunition” to be blank rounds used in concrete nail guns. No issue.
Sept. 21
12:00 a.m.
Stanley Police were requested for a civil paper service in the 300 block of East Second Avenue. Documents were served.
7:03 a.m. Stanley Police were requested to assist with someone locked out of their residence. Officer responded and assisted the person with getting back into the house.
Sept. 22
1:54 a.m.
Police requested for a check welfare call regarding someone who was homeless.
3:31 a.m. Stanley Police were requested to assist the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office with a semi tractor and trailer in the ditch.
7:43 a.m. Stanley Police observed a moving violation, with the result that Reannon Hartzell, age 24, was cited for no proof of insurance.
7:46 a.m. Stanley Police were requested in the 200 block of Second Avenue for a young person who would not go to school. The parent was advised that followup may be done with the school and juvenile services if necessary.
11:31 a.m. Stanley Police were requested on Franklin Street for an out of control young person. A crisis intervention plan was put into place.
3:28 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for an EMS call. Officer assisted as needed until EMS arrived.
6:03 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for a check person complaint. 7:09 p.m. Stanley Police were requested to the IGA for a man digging through the dumpster. No man was located, but advised if he was, he shouldn’t continue digging through the dumpster.
Sept. 23
12:45 a.m.
Police were requested for a noise complaint in the 100 block fo East Second Avenue.
12:32 a.m. Police were requested for a gas skip at the Stanley Travel Stop.
1:58 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted.
7:33 p.m.
Police responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 29 eastbound. The vehicle exited the highway prior to the Stanley-Boyd area and was not located.
8:08 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted for an equipment violation, with the result that the driver was warned. 8:35 p.m.
A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation, with the result that Jenessa Cota, age 31, was cited for Possession of THC, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Exceeding Speed Zones (11-15 mph).
8:38 p.m. Police responded to assist Chippewa County with a disturbance at the Stanley bar and Bowl. The situation was resolved amicably and the parties separated willingly.
9:55 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation, with the result that
Adam Askland, age 35, was cited for Operate After Revoked and No Proof of Insurance.
11:50 p.m.
Police responded to a vehicle crash at the Stanley Travel Stop. Driver warned for unsafe backing.
Sept. 24
3:57 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation, with the result that Corey Butterfield, age 42, was arrested for a Kenosha County warrant. Victoria Gates,
age 48, was cited for Operate After Revoked.
8:58 a.m. Papers were served with regard to civil process, being returned via facsimile to the Chippewa County Clerk of Courts at approximately 9:20 a.m.
10:26 a.m. Report was received of a suspected attempt at fraud.
11:27 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation, with the result that the driver was warned.
