August 30
4:54 p.m.
Stanley Police were requested to assist the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department with a man deemed suspicious on Center Road. Contact was made and everything seemed OK.
8:56 p.m. Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle operating after darkness without any head lights/ tail lamps. Driver Brian Nitz, age 29, was cited for operating after revocation (criminal) and failure to install ignition interlock device.
10:13 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for an animal at large in the 500 block of East Murray Street. The dog had returned home prior to officer arrival. Owner received a written warning for an animal at large.
August 31
3:38 a.m. Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop for a defective registration lamp. Driver verbally warned.
7:55 a.m.
Jona Hampson, age 34, was arrested for a DOC warrant and possession of methamphetamine. He was transported to the Chippewa County Jail and turned over to staff without incident.
9:45 a.m. A young person complaint was made at the school after staff was provided information regarding a social media post. Still investigating.
5:34 p.m.
Stray dog dropped off at the PD. The owner was quickly identified and contacted. His son responded a short time later and retrieved the dog.
5:50 p.m. A complaint was made regarding a social media post. The incident is a continuation of an earlier compliant at the school.
9:12 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted for a possible wanted individual. The wanted individual was not present. 9:27 p.m. Traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation. The driver was
warned.
September 1 2:39 a.m.
Traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation. Logan Woodruff, age 27, was cited for speeding 11-15 mph over.
8:35 a.m.
Kathleen Wolf, age 27, and Andrew Haynie, age 34, were arrested at the America Hotel for active DOC warrants and several drug charges. They were transported to the Chippewa County Jail without incident.
10:24 a.m. A civil standby was carried out.
7:04 p.m. Police responded to a reported traffic hazard on Highway 29. Upon officer arrival no issue was observed.
7:31 p.m.
Police conducted a warrant check with the result that Kyra White, age 30, was located and arrested on a Chippewa County warrant.
11:54 p.m. Police responded to a check person complaint in the 100 block of Barber Street. Contact was made and no issues found.
September 2
2:27 a.m.
Police were dispatched to a business alarm. Alarm company called and advised police could disregard prior to arrival.
1:05 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for a two vehicle accident. Crash report completed.
2:41 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for a vehicle crash without injury in Higwhay 29 eastbound at mile marker 97. Complainant advised a piece of weed had fallen off a vehicle in front of them and hit their windshield. Determined to be a non-reportable crash.
2:49 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for a woman who would not leave a residence in the City of Stanley. Prior to officer arrival she left. 3:00 p.m.
Stanley Police observed a vehicle being operated by a person with suspended driver’s license. Vehicle was stopped and the driver, 23-year-old Tyler Straskowski, was cited for operating
while suspended. 3:20 p.m.
Stanley Police were requested for a dog locked in a vehicle. Area was checked and nothing was located. 6:57 p.m.
Police were requested for a miscellaneous complaint.
7:39 p.m.
Police were requested to assist EMS at the motel.
September 3
2:02 a.m. Police were requested for a noise complaint. 1:16 p.m.
Stanley Police were requested for a theft of a license plate. Report to follow.
7:37 p.m.
Stanley Police received a traffic complaint of road rage between two vehicles on Highway 29 westbound at mile marker 100. A traffic stop was conducted and all involved parties were interviewed.
8:59 p.m.
Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop for a defective taillamp. Driver was verbally warned.
