August 5 5:42 a.m. Police responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 29 westbound that was passed on from Clark County. No vehicle matching the description was located.

10:30 a.m. Stanley Police were requested for an erratic driver on State Highway 29 westbound from Clark County. Vehicle was not located.

10:45 a.m.

Stanley Police observed a person sitting by themselves in the pavilion at Lotz Park after hours.

4:35 p.m. Stanley Police received a miscellaneous complaint from a residence in the 800 block fo North Oshkosh Street.

4:57 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for a gas drive off at the Stanley Travel Stop.

7:39 p.m. A miscellaneous complaint was received.

8:27 p.m. A vehicle parking call was received from the 100 block of East Third Avenue.

8:52 p.m. Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle operating after darkness with no headlights or taillights illuminated. Verbal warning issued. August 6 1:59 a.m. Stanley Police observed a vehicle pulled off on the side of the entrance ramp near the highway. Contact was made with the driver who advised they were pulled over to sleep. Driver was requested to drive to the Stanley Travel Stop to sleep.

10:22 a.m. Stanley Police were requested for a trespassing complaint. Incident under investigation.

12:33 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for a personal welfare check. Everyone was determined to be fine. 1:24 p.m.

Stanley Police observed a vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed limit. Vehicle was stopped. Operator Ryan Wilichowski, age 26, was cited for speeding. 1:40 p.m.

Stanley Police observed a vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed limit. Vehicle was stopped and the operator, Joseph Hammond, age 43, was cited.

11:31 p.m. Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop for equipment violation. Driver verbally warned.

August 7 12:16 a.m. Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop for defective / non-functioning tail lamps during darkness. Driver verbally warned for equipment violation and no insurance.

10:07 a.m. Stanley Police were requested for a parking complaint. Owner of property advised to contact a tow truck if they wanted the vehicle removed. 3:29 p.m.

Stanley Police were requested for a gas drive off at the Stanley Travel Stop. Incident under investigation.

9:38 p.m.

Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop for a non-functioning taillamp. Driver verbally warned.

August 8 8:45 a.m. Mitchell Matthaei, age 28, arrested for Felony Theft and Felony Bail Jumping charges. 2:04 p.m. A vehicle crash with no personal injuries was reported. 3:21 p.m.

Stanley Police assisted the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office with an active theft complaint in the 500 block of East Ninth Avenue. A man left the scene on a pit bike and it was unknown if anyone else was still on scene. Police provided assistance while buildings were cleared and vehicle was searched. The man who was a suspect later returned to the address he had left from and was arrested.

7:12 p.m. Police responded to a check person call at Pine Court. A man was located sitting on a curb, doing nothing wrong. The caller advised the man would not identify himself or leave. The caller was advised that the man did not need to identify himself or leave as he was on public property and not committing any crime. The man decided to leave on his own due to harassment from complainants.

9:53 p.m.

A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation and the driver was warned.

11:15 p.m. Another traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation. The driver was warned.

August 9 12:14 a.m. Stanley Police responded to the Stanley Travel Stop for a reported retail theft. After reviewing security footage it was observed that a theft had occurred. Charges to be referred to the Chippewa County District Attorney’s Office.

1:44 a.m. Police responded to a check vehicle complaint. Michael A. White, age 38, was arrested for three outstanding warrants, trespassing, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. A citation will be mailed for open intoxicants in motor vehicle.

9:48 a.m. An officer was requested to check a residence that was reported to have a person inside after an eviction. The residence was checked and it was determined that the person had left shortly before officer arrival.

7:24 p.m. Police responded to an EMS call and assisted as needed.

August 10 3:28 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for an EMS assist at the Park Street Apartments in Boyd.

3:31 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for a traffic complaint on East Maple Street near South Franklin Street. Caller advised that dump trucks were going by at a high rate of speed. Area was monitored and trucks slowed down while officer was in the area.

4:30 p.m. Stanley Police observed a vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed limit. Vehicle was stopped and driver warned.

7:19 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for a child custody dispute and civil standby. Officer spoke to all involved parties.

August 11 12:15 a.m. Police requested for a fight in progress at the Hill House Pub and Grill.
