With the weather finally giving a chance for outdoor sports to get underway in earnest, the Stanley-Boyd Track and Field Team headed to Wausau this past week Thursday April 6 for the Wausau Warrior Indoor Meet, with coach Bob Seidl giving some thoughts on performance after the results were in.

“The boys placed fourth at the eleven team meet at Wausau on Thursday,” he said. “Zach Haas won the 3200-meter run and Nic Schmelzer placed third in both of his hurdle races.”

In addition, Seidl said that the track team is running good times and competing well, but that Wausau was not a regulation track.

“We can’t wait to get out on a 400-meter track next week,” he said. “Hopefully the weather cooperates.”

As to results at Wausau April 6, some other highlights include Simon Polman placing fourth in the boys 55-meter dash prelims with a Time of 7.04 seconds, while Troy Trevino took seventh in the boys 40-meter dash finals with a time of 1:01.50.

As to the girls’ side of things, Lula Chwala made a time of 8.54 second in the 55-meter dash girls prelims, with Adyson Gustafson placing eighth in the 200 meter dash girls finals with a time of 31.20 seconds.

Following Wausau, it was off to Eleva-Strum Tuesday April 11th with Gilman to follow on Thursday April 13. Check back next week for the results and more, with spring outdoor sports now in swing.
