The Stanley-Boyd Art Club has been diving into their passion this year. 14 Students teamed up to compete in the Visual Art Classic (VAC). The regional took place at UW-Stout on March 10th. The team worked together in a 30 question quiz bowl and a group critical thinking project. The afternoon consisted of each student getting 2 hours to create a work on site. After judging, 7 students earned a trip to State VAC. The State competition was held on April 14th at UW-Madison. The artists competed very well bringing home 3 first places and 4 second places.
The competitions are not done yet for our high school artist. SBHS will be hosting the Cloverbelt Art Show on Friday May 5th in the high school library. A total of seven schools will have their student’s works on display. Judges will award a 1st and 2nd place in 9 different categories. The Art Show is open to the public that day 3pm -7pm.
