Start early, end early.
Walking the stage May 10 at 6 p.m. at Oriole Park—unless there’s rain, then indoors—the Stanley-Boyd Class of 2024 will graduate 74 seniors.
“It will be held at Oriole Park,” Senior Class Advisor Kayleigh Steinmetz said. ”The choir will be singing, and we will hear speeches from our Salutatorian and Valedictorian. If weather is a problem, graduation will move indoors.”
Included in the top ten for the Class of 2024 are Vaughn Schneider (valedictorian), Coltan Calkins (salutatorian), Lukas Milas, Carter Peterson, Breana Smith, Nicholas Szczech, Breckin Burzynski, Megan Okerglicki, Steven Liang, and Britain Close.
For those students returning next year, meanwhile, new Chromebooks are coming to Stanley-Boyd, courtesy of Krista Computers.
Acting at its Monday April 22 board meeting, the Stanley-Boyd Area Schools Board approved a quote for 200 Chromebooks, more specifically identified as the 11.6-inch HP Chromebook 11 G9 EE.
Bid at $68,300, the new hardware will be ready when students arrive in fall.
