The City of Stanley is gearing up for Arbor Day on April 25 with two special events aimed at promoting environmental awareness and community involvement. To mark the start of the City’s Arbor Day Celebrations, on Thursday, April 24, students from Mr. Donnerbauer’s Horticulture class at Stanley-Boyd High School will head to Chapman Park in the morning to plant up to 12 Silver Maple trees which will be planted in locations selected by city staff. Then, on Friday, each student in the Stanley Elementary and Boyd 4K classrooms will receive a Pine Oak sapling from the City of Stanley to take home, giving them a hands-on opportunity to care for the environment. These events are part of the City of Stanley’s annual April 25 Arbor Day celebration, aimed at fostering a greener future and engaging students in hands-on conservation efforts.
