For the fourth time since reaching its endowed level, the Stanley Community Fund has awarded grants. The Grants Committee meeting on February 24, 2023, selected the following community non-profits to receive funding: D. R. Moon Library was awarded $460 for one Hotspot and nine months of service fees; Stanley-Boyd Food Pantry received $200; Stanley Community Association received $400 to powder coat seesaws and glider swings at Chapman Park; Stanley Lions Club will receive $248 for two recycling bins to collect plastic at the new Lube Suppliers location. There was $1,308 dollars available for distribution this year. Four requests for funding were received this year.
The Stanley Community Endowment Fund was endowed at the $25,000 level at the end of 2016, under the leadership of the Stanley Lions Club and donations from 31 generous individuals, couples, organizations, and businesses. The first grants were awarded in 2019.
The Stanley Community Fund is open to additional donors. Anyone wishing to make a donation can send a check made out to CFCC - Stanley Community Fund, and send it to Community Foundation of Chippewa County, PO Box 153, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729. All donations are invested and the earnings return to the community each year. Donations are tax deductible.
