Stanley Community Fund awards several grants

Posted

For the second time since reaching its endowed level, the Stanley Community Fund has awarded grants. The Grants Committee, meeting on January 15, 2020 selected the following community non-profits to receive funding: D. R. Moon Library was awarded $245 for a summer children’s program, the Stanley-Boyd Food Pantry was awarded $365 for the Weekend Kid’s Meal Program, which provides food for students attending the Stanley-Boyd Schools, and the Fruit of the Vine Food Pantry, operated out of Trinity Vineyard Church, also received $365 for its food distribution program. Both local food pantries receive food through the Feed My People Program based in Eau Claire, and these funds will result in a multiplier benefit to the local food programs.

The Stanley Community Fund was endowed at the $25,000 level at the end of 2016, under the leadership of the Stanley Lions Club and donations from 31 generous individuals, couples, organizations, and businesses. The first grants were awarded in 2019 to the D. R. Moon Library, Stanley-Boyd Community Pool and the Stanley-Boyd Food Pantry.

The Stanley Community Fund is open to additional donors. Anyone wishing to make a donation can send a check made out to CFCC – Stanley Community Fund, and send it to Community Foundation of Chippewa County, PO Box 153, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729. All donations are invested and the earnings return to the community each year. Donations are tax deductible.
