Stanley Council Approves Agreement for City Engineer Services

Posted

The Stanley City Council has approved an agreement for professional services with CBS Squared at the February 3 meeting. The agreement will provide City Engineer Services on an hourly basis, with a spending limit of $5,000. During the initial discussion, Alderperson Mark Fitzsimmons had raised a question about the possibility of the upper limit that would require prior council approval. “Will we have an upper limit?” he asked.
City Administrator Nicole Pilgrim responded, “Usually it’s $5,000,” confirming that such a limit is typical.
Mayor Mike Henke expressed his agreement, noting, “I’m okay with that.” He then added that these services will be for “the little things that come up.”

In other news
The Stanley City Council approved the combination of Lot 1 and Lot 2 of the Ninth Avenue property owned by Ryan and Tanya Chwala. Rick Denzine of Denzine Surveying presented his findings to the Council, explaining the change.
“It was one lot, we made it into two, and (we are) putting it back together,” Denzine said simply.
With no concerns raised, the Council swiftly approved the request, as Denzine noted, “no surprises” with his survey.

Library Project
The Stanley City Council has approved requests for proposals (RFP) and requests for qualifications (RFQ) related to the D.R. Moon Memorial Library Renovation and Expansion Project.
The RFP for grant administration, including Environmental Review Services, has a submission deadline of February 20, with proposals to be opened on February 27. Interviews will take place on March 3, and the selection will be made during the same Council meeting.
Additionally, the Council approved the RFQ for architectural and engineering services for the project, with the same deadlines and interview schedule.
“The Environmental Report, I would say, is probably the next biggest thing,” Mayor Mike Henke commented, highlighting the next critical step in the renovation process.
