A Stanley man is dead after a truck he was driving was found upside down in the Chippewa River Sunday afternoon.
Thomas Wadzinski, age 71 of Stanley, was traveling eastbound on County D near Tower Road in Rusk County when the truck entered the Chippewa River and overturned, with no apparent attempts at braking and use of evasive steering. A family boating on the river notified authorities of finding the overturned truck around 4:15 p.m.
County Highway D runs east to west in Rusk County, with the road running parallel to the River, just feet away.
