STANLEY POLICE REPORTS

Apr. 2 8:30 a.m. A complaint was received from an inmate at the Stanley Correctional Institution, with report to follow. 8:27 p.m. Stanley Police Department was requested for a crisis intervention. 9:13 p.m.

Stanley Police received a request to assist the Thorp Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office at Our Lady of Victory Hospital.

11:48 p.m.

The Stanley Police Department was requested to assist the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department with a traffic stop.

Apr. 3 5:51 a.m.

Police were requested for a crisis intervention at an unspecified address. 10:54 a.m.

Stanley Police responded to Courtesy Auto for a possible vehicle fire. Upon arrival the fire had been extinguished. Stanley Fire Department was advised they could disregard, but still responded.

4:53 p.m.

Stanley Police were requested for a dog that was locked in a vehicle with the windows up at an unspecified address. Upon arrival the vehicle was no longer there. Apr. 4 5:48 a.m.

Stanley Police were requested to assist the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.

12:22 p.m.

Stanley Police were requested for an erratic driver on State Highway 29. Vehicle was located and stopped. Driver stated that someone had been tailgating him and he tapped the brakes for them to back off. Driver was advised to be careful doing this.

1:24 p.m.

Stanley Police were requested for a dog that left a property in the 400 block of McKenzie Street and attacked another dog. Contact was made with all involved. Report to follow.

6:20 p.m.

Police were requested for an animal- at-large complaint. No address specified.

Apr. 5 10:22 a.m.

The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from Stanley Police with a crash. Upon arrival, officer learned that Stanley/Boyd First Responders were on the scene and that the drivers of the vehicles were outside their vehicles. The vehicles were blocking most of the road on County H. Based on the vehicles being located in a dip on the road, officer set up south of the scene to provide lighting for other north bound motorists. Sergeant Clark later responded to investigate the incident.

12:30 p.m.

A man reported physical abuse of a child by the child’s mother out of state. Report to follow.

9:34 p.m.

Police were called to the 300 block of Washington Street for report of a young man possibly smoking marijuana. Report to follow.

Apr. 6 7:38 a.m.

Stanley Police assisted Chippewa County DHS with a home visit.

11:02 a.m.

Officer responded to an EMS call until Stanley First Responders arrived on the scene and took over.

11:08 a.m.

Officer responded to an EMS call in the 400 block of McKenzie Street and assisted Thorp EMS and Stanley First Responders until no longer needed.

2:39 p.m.

A motorist located a female Golden Retriever running loose on Highway 29, near the exit ramp. The motorist delivered the dog to the Stanley to the Stanley Street Department building where it was kenneled pending location of the owner. There was no collar.

Ultimately, the dog was not claimed and was later transported to the Chippewa Humane Association.

3:44 p.m.

Grass fire in Ward 4. Stanley Fire responded with Police Chief and an officer providing traffic control.

Apr. 7 7:06 p.m.

Stanley Police were requested for a found dog, which was transported to the Chippewa County Humane Association.

11:21 p.m.

Stanley Police were requested to assist Boyd Police on a traffic stop.

Apr. 8 12:48 p.m.

Stanley Police were requested for a garbage dumping complaint. Contact was made with suspect, who stated that he would come back and remove anything that should not have been left. Contact was later made with Department of Public Works employees who advised that everything had been cleaned up.

1:20 p.m.

Report received from personnel at Stanley-Boyd Schools requesting law enforcement in the elementary school office. Report to follow. 9:26 p.m.

Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop and warrant arrest for a man with a Clark County warrant. No name or details included.

Apr. 9 7:44 a.m.

An incident involving a young person was reported.

Apr. 10 6:49 a.m.

A law assist provided to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. 10:01 a.m.

While on routine patrol, Officer observed a vehicle pulled off to the side of the road. Contact was made with the motorist who stated that she was from out of state and was resting her eyes. Officer provided some additional information regarding a Jeep dealership and the motorist continued on her way.

10:21 a.m.

While on routine patrol, Officer received a flag down by a motorist with question about old medication.

Apr. 11 5:06 p.m.

A young man was located walking in front of the Stanley Travel Stop. Contact was made and the man advised that he was getting some fresh air after getting upset with his parents. He was provided a ride home and there were no problems.

Apr. 12 8:53 a.m.

Stanley Police were requested for an EMS call in the City of Stanley. Officer responded and gave assistance as needed.

12:30 p.m.

Assistance provided to EMS as needed.

3:41 p.m.

A vehicle was stopped and the young driver cited for speeding in a school zone.
