Boyd, WI Brandon Milas, College of Business Josie Radtke, College of Abby Quinnell, College of Education & Human Sciences Benjamin Turner, College of Arts and Sciences The University of Wisconsin- River Falls fall semester Dean's List honoring 1,995 students has been released by Registrar Kelly Browning.

To be named to the Dean's List, a full-time undergraduate must earn a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a scale of 4.0, or midway between an 'A' and 'B' average. Area students are listed below by hometown, name, and major.

UW-RIVER FALLS The University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point honored more than 2,600 undergraduate students for attaining high grade point averages during the fall semester of the 2020-21 academic year. Full-time undergraduates who earned grade points of 3.90 to 4.0 (4.0 equals straight A) are given the highest honors designation. High honor citations go to those with grade point averages from 3.75 to 3.89 and honor recognition is accorded to those with grade point averages from 3.50 to 3.74.

Personalized certificates of scholastic achievement are being sent to those who earned highest honors distinction.

February 8 12:24 p.m.

Police stopped a vehicle with a flat rear tire on the highway 29 westbound on-ramp. Police assisted as needed until the vehicle was operable.

1:53 p.m.

Police responded to a crisis intervention. Northwest Connections was contacted and a safety plan put in place.

February 9 9:13 a.m.

A two-vehicle crash with no personal injuries was reported.

6:20 p.m.

Stanley Police were called to East 4th Avenue for a vehicle slide-in. On scene the vehicle was able to be removed, with the officer and some citizens who stopped to assist. The operator was the registered owner, who had a suspended driving status. He was cited for Operating While Suspended and warned for not having insurance. February 10 4:26 p.m.

A personal welfare check request was received.

4:47 p.m.

Stanley Police were requested for a civil stand-by. The woman stated that items were no longer at the residence. She was advised that she would need to contact the courts as it was now a civil matter. February 11 Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop on Highway 29 at 330th Street for speed, 81 mph in a 65 mph zone. Ali M. Wiemer, age 25, cited for speeding on expressway.

February 12 1:52 a.m.

Stanley Police requested for a traffic complaint of a truck pulling a car with no lights. Last observed east of Thorp, traveling west on Highway 29. No vehicle located, no report.

FROM PAGE 5 9:57 p.m. Stanley Police requested to assist the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office with diverting traffic while crews combated a fire. Officer assisted until no longer needed. 11:34 a.m.

Use of force while detaining a mental health patient. No further particulars given. Emergency Detentions fall under Chapter 51.15 of the Wisconsin state statutes. 2:04 p.m.

Emergency detention. Report to follow.

February 13 10:35 a.m.

Fire alarm at the Homeplace. While en route to the alarm Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office contacted and advised that emergency responders could cancel response.

11:04 a.m.

Hit and run with damage to government property. Report to follow.

11:40 a.m.

Traffic stop with vehicle involved in a hit and run. Operator and passenger identified.

7:21 p.m.

Stanley Police were called to the 200 block of East 1st Avenue for a woman refusing to leaving the complainant’s vehicle parked in front of the residence. Once on scene the woman was identified as Megan Johnson and taken into custody for two outstanding warrants. Once the warrants were confirmed, the issuing agencies requested that a new court date be issued to Megan and that she be released. Megan was transported to the Stanley Police Department where her new court date was issued and then she was released.

8:34 p.m.

Stanley Police requested to assist Stanley Fire at 206 East Second Avenue for a structure fire. Assistance provided until no longer needed.

February 14 Stanley Police were called to assist Thorp Police with a domestic disturbance located in the 500 block of West Stanley Street in Thorp. Assistance provided until no longer needed.
