The Stanley Rodeo is coming to Stanley once again, courtesy of PRCA Rodeo and STPR Inc. The Rodeo run continues from Thursday, June 12 through Sunday, June 15 this year.
The fun starts Thursday at 6:00 p.m. with the Miss Stanley Queens Coronation and Grand Marshal Presentation at the Stanley Theater.
Following on Friday, the fun moves to Chapman Park with food stands and vendors open at 4:00 p.m. Rodeo gates open at 6:00 p.m. with no prior admittance, the rodeo performance kicking off at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday will both have amateur barrel races.
As for one day Rodeo tickets, they are $20 advance or $25 at the gate for adults 13 and older, with children 12 and under $10 advance or $15 at the gate. Advance tickets can be purchased at the Stanley Republican, Hazuga’s True Value, or at Chapman Park Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Following the Friday Rodeo performance there will be free live music in the Chapman Park Bandstand by the Brady Luke Band at 9:00 p.m.
Starting Saturday, June 14, a Cowboy Breakfast will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Community Center, sponsored by Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. Food stands and vendors open at 11:00 a.m. to keep the fun going. Come 2:00 p.m. there will be a Rodeo Days parade in downtown Stanley, a pedal tractor pull at 4:00 p.m. in Chapman Park. Gates for the Saturday Rodeo performance open at 6:00 p.m., the Rodeo kicking off at 7:30 p.m. The Dan Lepien band will provide free live music from 9:00 p.m. on in the Chapman Park Bandstand.
Come Sunday morning there will be a Cowboy Breakfast from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. in the Community Center, followed with Cowboy Church at 10:30 a.m. at the Bandstand, sponsored by Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. A Charcoal Chicken Dinner by the Stanley Rod and Gun Club will take place from 11:00 a.m. onward in Chapman Park. New this year, a team penning and sorting event will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the Rodeo Arena as well. Contact Harvey Rossman for info at 715-669-3929 or sign up the day of show.
Horse pull registration for medium pullers will take place at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, a professional horse pull on the Pulling Track at Chapman Park at 1:00 p.m.
