At right, Stanley Sportsman’s Club President Frank Dusick recently presented a check for $2,000 on behalf of the Stanley Sportsman’s Club to Stanley Police Officer Tyler Lewian and his K-9 Partner Trey. Monetary donations were raised at the recently held Sportsman’s Club Booster Banquet. The family of Tom Thorton donated his Glock model 17 Gen5 9mm pistol to be raffled at the event as a memorial to the former Officer. 50 percent of the proceeds from the raffle were to be donated to the Stanley Police Department K-9 Corp. while the remaining 50 percent was to be donated to the Stanley Sportsman’s Club. Due to a very successful banquet, the club decided to donate all proceeds from the raffle to the Department’s K-9 program. Photos submitted.
