The Stanley Movie Theater hosted its Easter Free Show Saturday, April 19. Event goers were treated to free showings of Moana 2 at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and got to get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny, as well as Scooby Doo.
The Easter Bunny was welcomed after the movie by theater goers singing Peter Cotton Tail, with members of the Eslinger family handing out gift bags and assisting with cleanup for the event.
Now in its 57th year, the Easter Free Show this year was sponsored by the Stanley Area Chamber of Commerce, Haas Inc., and Kromrey Chiropractic.
As for events to come, two legacy events are planned this May. Area residents are invited out to the Stanley Theater May 3 for the Derby Dazzler. Come watch the Kentucky Derby live on the big screen at 4:30 p.m. and see Chris Kroeze perform on stage after the horse race, starting at 6:45 p.m. Chris Kroeze was runner up on NBC’s The Voice/Top 5 Country song and has been featured in USA Today as well as Rolling Stone, holding the number one rock song on iTunes.
Included in the May 3 Derby Dazzler at the Stanley Theater are bourbon tasting, a best dressed contest, and games and prizes. Both regular theater concessions and gourmet concessions from Debbie’s on Broadway will be available. General admission tickets for the two-in-one event are $65, with VIP admission $100. VIP admission includes your favorite seat in the VIP section, three drink tickets, and one gourmet concession item ticket. Those with a meet and greet VIP ticket for $125 will get to meet and greet Chris Kroeze and enjoy free drinks and food along with VIP seating, three drink tickets, and one gourmet concession ticket.
Also at the theater this May is the Dueling Pianos event. Held May 10 and starting at 7:00 p.m., the Dueling Pianos is Wisconsin’s own dueling piano entertainment and will see request based interactive sing-along and clap-along in practically every music genre. Tickets for the Dueling pianos event are $65 for general Admission and $100 for VIP Admission. VIP admission includes favorite seat in the VIP section, three drink tickets, one gourmet concession ticket, and one popcorn ticket.
