Rodeo to follow Father’s Day weekend

Ready to rodeo?

Patience, my friends, patience. The Rodeo comes to town June 17 through the 19th. For those impatient and ready to go, there’s the 18th Annual Truck and Tractor Pull, kicking ou this Saturday June 11th at Chapman Park at 7 p.m.,

near the Community Center.

Kicking things ou Saturday night will be the Altered Stock 4 x 4 class, sponsored by Lube Suppliers. Following this will be the Hot Farm (Tractor) and Superstock 4 x 4 6200# classes, sponsored by R. Westaby Trucking and Thorp TRUCK PULL

Equipment respectively.

Heading on past sunset it will be the Light Limited Superstock Tractor 6500# class, sponsored by Stanley Tire. Following this will be Open Diesel 8000# sponsored by Chilson Automotive, Limited Pro Stock 8000# sponsored by Gerrits Construction, and 2.6 Diesel 8000# weight class, sponsored by Gerrits Construction. With puller weigh-in starting at 4 p.m. and start time for competition at 7 p.m. along with food and fun, the Truck and Tractor Pull starts this Saturday night, following a fishing contest up at Otter Lake put on by the Stanley Sportsman’s Club Saturday morning.

As to the Rodeo, there’s plenty of fun to look forward to the week following from June 17 to June 19. Check back next week for a full itinerary on that!

Money raised through the Truck and Tractor Pull plus Rodeo is put back into area parks, per spokesman Kevin Hendrickson.
