Police received a check person call. Contact was made and no issues were found. 7:59 p.m.
Police responded to a hit and run of an unattended vehicle at Chapman Park. Investigation ongoing.
9:58 p.m. Traffic stop conducted for a moving violation. The driver was warned. 10:30 p.m.
Traffic stop conducted for a moving violation and warning given.

June 19 1:31 a.m. Police responded to a traffic complaint. The vehicle in question was reported to have possibly taken off the Stanley exit. The area was checked and the vehicle was not located.
9:17 a.m. Request was made for a welfare check on children as the parents were suspected of using drugs.
11:22 a.m. Report made from St. Joseph’s Hospital of a dog bite. Chippewa County Animal Bite Form filled out and later faxed to the Health Department. Follow-up needed. 1:02 p.m.
Report of an AmeriVu Hotel guest’s rental vehicle being damaged after someone threw fireworks on the windshield over the overnight hours. No suspects. Pictures and rental car insurance information was gathered for documentation. Information only at this time. 3:24 p.m.
Officer assisted EMS with an ill patient and stood by until no longer needed.
7:58 p.m. Traffic stop conducted for a moving violation. Scott M. Lovelien, age 46, was arrested on Department of Corrections and Eau Claire County warrants. Scott was also cited for operating while revoked (revoked due to alcohol). 9:27 p.m. and 10:02 p.m. Two separate traffic stops conducted for moving violations with the respective drivers warned.
10:14 p.m. Traffic stop conducted for a moving violation with the owner being warned.
10:21 p.m. Police responded to a check person complaint in the 400 block of East First Avenue. Contact was made with the caller who stated they were mistaken and that the police could disregard.
10:45 p.m. Police responded to a criminal damage complaint at the Stanley Travel Stop.
11:22 p.m. Traffic stop conducted for a moving violation with the driver being warned.
11:51 p.m. Police observed a disabled vehicle on Highway 29 eastbound. Police provided assistance by contacting Breezy Acres and locating a wheel. June 20 7:20 a.m. Stanley Police were requested for two tires that had been cut. Incident under investigation. 1:49 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for an erratic driver. Vehicle was not located.
2:23 p.m. Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop, with the result that operator Angela Klopotowski, age 30, was cited for speeding.
2:58 p.m. Stanley POlice were requested to assist the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department with a crash. Assistance given as needed.
8:12 p.m. Police were requested in the area of 100 South Broadway Street for a stray cat complaint.
June 21 6:26 a.m. EMS requested for an elderly woman at Sunset Homes who was confused. EMS was requested and the woman was transported to hospital.
12:37 a.m.
Criminal history conducted as required for employment.
June 22 9:26 a.m. Check person call was later determined to be a Cadott Police incident and the reporting party was advised.
10:35 a.m. Vehicle lockout. Waiver form filled out and vehicle was unlocked without incident.
2:27 p.m. A check person call was received regarding a woman and her daughter arguing after pulling off to the side of Highway 29. The two were fine and things calmed down, with nothing further to report.
3:05 p.m. Traffic call received from the area of County Highway O and 350th Avenue. Area was checked and no driving behavior observed.
3:55 p.m. Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop for non-registration of auto. Driver and lone occupant, 33-yearold Jeramiah Hetra, was cited for operating while suspended. Driver was also verbally warned for no insurance and non-registration of auto. Vehicle removed by Breezy Acres.
10:18 p.m. Check person call received. 10:35 p.m. Traffic stop conducted for registered owner showing active warrants. The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was not the registered owner.
June 23 12:25 a.m. Traffic stop conducted for an equipment violation. The driver was warned.
1:28 a.m. Traffic stop conducted for a moving violation. The driver, Diego A. Vaquez Ramirez, age 34, was arrested for OWI 1st and an outstanding Ozaukee County warrant. Diego was also cited for his speed.
9:16 a.m. 911 investigation. Contact made with the homeowner and the advised it was accidental and there was no emergency.
11:16 a.m. Disabled vehicle unoccupied at a stop sign. Contact was made with the registered owner who advised that she had run out of gas and her boyfriend was returning with gas. The boyfriend returned with some gas and the vehicle was removed a short time later.
12:29 p.m. A traffic stop was made, with the result that Jeffrey Gindt, age 60, was cited for failure to yield right of way from a stop sign.
5:14 p.m. Dollar General requested the Stanley PD to serve a “No Trespass Notice” to four people. Trespass notices were served and the individuals in question were instructed not to enter the business. Notices were scanned and attached to the case. Nothing further at this time.
5:27 p.m. Call was made in relation to a possibly intoxicated person driving in the area. The vehicle plate was provided but the vehicle was not located.
9:23 p.m. Police responded to a request for a personal welfare check. Contact was made with the individual who was in good health and hadn’t heard their phone.
10:08 p.m. Police responded to a check person call in the 1400 block of Pine Street. Police made contact with both parties involved and determined that the issue was resolved.
10:24 p.m. Police responded to a car crash on County Highway X near Copenhaver Avenue. Photographs were taken and a crash report was completed.
June 24 4:02 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation and the driver was warned.
4:13 a.m. A driver was warned for an equipment violation.
5:05 a.m. A person was stopped for an equipment violation and warned.
7:16 p.m. Police were requested for debris in the roadway on State Highway 29.
7:29 p.m. Police were requested to the north side for a harassment complaint.
June 25 12:35 p.m. Stanley Police were requested to respond to Aspirus Hospital for an out of control person. Upon arrival they had left the hospital. Contact was made with hospital staff who stated the man had become disorderly when a prescription was not given for pain medication. The man was later located and cited for disorderly conduct. 5:31 p.m.
Stanley Police were requested for a dog bite complaint. Information was sent to the Chippewa County Health Department.
June 26 4:35 p.m. Stanley Police were requested by an alarm company for a burglar alarm at Aspirus Stanley. Officer made contact with staff members and was advised a visitor had exited through an emergency exit door only.
10:13 p.m. Police were requested for a car vs. deer accident on State Highway 29.
June 27 11:16 a.m. Stanley officer bit by a homeowner’s dog while conducting follow- up at a residence. Report to
follow. 1:09 p.m.
Traffic complaint of a semi swerving traveling westbound from Thorp. Upon arrival officer did not locate the truck in question and cleared a short time later.
2:54 p.m. Stanley Police arrested Brian L. King, age 55, on a misdemeanor charge of issuing worthless checks. Brian was transported to the Chippewa County Jail where he was turned over to deputies without incident. 9:21 p.m.
Police responded to a semi vs. deer crash on Highway 29 eastbound.
10:22 p.m.
A traffic stop was conducted for an equipment violation and the driver warned.
10:59 p.m.
A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation with the result that Mitchell J. Matthaei, age 28 , was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, possession of THC, possession of drug paraphernalia and felony bail jumping.
June 28 5:25 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation, with the result that the driver, 36-year-old Brandon Klemish, was cited for operating after revoked.
1:30 p.m. Stanley officer assisted Thorp police with a DOC warrant pickup. Officer assisted until no longer needed. 9:40 p.m.
Police observed a man they believed to be wanted. Contact was made and police confirmed the man’s identity. As a result, Shane S. Stein, age 44, was arrested on a confirmed Crawford County warrant.
June 29 1:46 a.m. Police responded to a report of a person out of control. As a result an adult was arrested on a charge of child abuse and a young person present received a citation for underage consumption of alcohol. June 30 5:51 a.m. Police requested for a possible theft complaint.
5:52 a.m. Police requested for an abandoned bicycle complaint. 6:11 a.m.
Stanley Police were requested for a possible disabled vehicle on State Highway 29. The area was checked but a disabled vehicle was not located.
12:48 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on State Highway 29. The area was checked but no such vehicle was located.
3:25 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for a vehicle lockout. The vehicle was opened.
July 1 Clark County took report of a vehicle being taken without the owner’s consent from a residence on Copenhaver just outside the City of Stanley. It was later determined that the owner was not going to pursue charges at this time.
11:00 a.m. Report of a stolen child’s bike from the Chapman Campground. The bike was later located and there were no further issues.
11:36 a.m. A personal welfare check was requested for a child playing near the road without any supervision. Upon arrival officer located two adult women and three children playing outside behind the listed address. They were advised of the complaint and there did not appear to be any concern for the child’s well-being at this time. 3:45 p.m.
Allen Nagel, age 39, was issued a $200 ordinance forfeiture citation under City of Stanley ordinance 11.3.2 for throwing a pop can at another vehicle. No damage was reported from the other vehicle owner. 8:05 p.m.
Police responded to a check person request. The person later made contact with the person who requested the check and no issues were found.
10:48 p.m. Traffic stop conducted on Highway 29 for a speeding violation of 108 miles per hour in a 65 mile-perhour zone. Pranay Patlolla, age 23, was cited for speeding on the freeway 35+ mph over limit. (43 mph over). July 2 8:19 a.m. Stanley Police were requested for a law assist in Thorp related to an active burglar alarm. While en route, the officer was advised to disregard.
1:08 p.m. Stanley Police requested for a vehicle lockout. Vehicle was unlocked. No report. 8:48 p.m. Police responded to a two-vehicle crash without injury in Chapman Park. 9:33 p.m.
Police took a report of property found in Chapman Park during the Fourth of July event. A black Droid Moto and a Sheffield box cutter were turned over to police. The property is held at the Stanley Police Department waiting to be claimed by the owners. July 3 12:18 a.m. Police responded to a check person call. The issue was resolved without police intervention.
1:06 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation. The driver was warned.
1:29 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation, with the result that Jorge Lopez-Ornelas, age 24, was arrested for OWI (1st) and operating a motor vehicle without a license (2nd within 3 years).
6:08 a.m. Stanley police responded to the Stanley Kwik Trip for a man experiencing chest pains. Officer assisted EMS personnel until no longer needed. 12:12 p.m.
Stanley Police were requested in the 600 block of Emery Street for a two-year-old in the caller’s yard. Officer responded and child was reunited with their parents. On call CPS contacted. Report to follow.
2:00 p.m. Stanley police received a lost phone that was located on the band stage at Chapman Park. Phone placed into property and later returned to owner. 11:01 p.m.
Police responded to the 400 block of East Patten Street for a fireworks complaint. Police arrived and checked the area for several minutes with no fireworks observed.
11:12 p.m.
Police responded to the 200 block of East Second Avenue for a report of a possible theft. While investigating, contact was made with an individual matching the description. Charles J. Gilbert, age 50, was arrested on Chippewa County body only warrants.
July 4 2:48 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted for several violations, with the result that Jason Polley, age 48, was cited for displaying a false registration plate.
11:20 a.m. Stanley police were requested for a harassment complaint at the Grant Street Apartments. Incident under investigation.
3:16 p.m. Stanley police were requested for a mental health complaint. Safety plan put into place.
5:07 p.m. Stanley police were requested for report of a person being disorderly on South Michael Street in Boyd. Report to follow. 9:25 p.m.
Police requested for an extra patrol in the 600 block of Gilman Street. 9:28 p.m.

July 6 8:45 a.m. Report received of fraud and identity theft. Report to follow.
12:33 p.m. Broken window reported near a front door. Still investigating.
1:28 p.m. Stanley police were requested for a property dispute among young people in the 600 block of North Franklin.
July 7 1:06 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation, with the result that Whiper Varsho, age 29, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a license and without insurance. Whisper was also arrested for possession of methamphetamine and a probation hold. Marcus Jordan, age 23, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine, methamphetamine paraphernalia, and a probation hold.
3:25 p.m. Fraud incident assigned by mistake. Nothing further.
4:05 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for a check vehicle at the Boyd wastewater treatment plant. Report to follow.
4:22 p.m. Tyler Vinton, age 28, was arrested and transported to the Chippewa County Jail where he was booked in on charged of domestic disorderly conduct, strangulation, and false imprisonment and felony bond jumping. Report to follow.
10:06 p.m. Police responded to a report of active fire alarms at a residence in the 200 block of East Second Avenue. Stanley Fire responded and it was determined the alarms were 14 years old and defective.
July 8 1:33 p.m. Stanley police were requested to respond for an out of control man. It was determined the man was possibly having a medical condition. An ambulance was requested and the man was transported to hospital.
1:36 p.m. Stanley police were requested for a woman who stated she had been abused. Incident under investigation.
1:39 p.m.
Stanley police were requested for a theft complaint. Incident under investigation. Report to follow.
July 9 2:45 a.m. Police requested for a noise complaint in the trailer park.
10:36 a.m. Stanley police were requested for a burglary complaint. Incident under investigation.
11:38 a.m. Stanley police were requested to assist the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department regarding a person with a warrant. Assistance was given as requested.
4:51 p.m. A traffic stop was made. 6:36 p.m. A neighboring agency received a traffic complaint of a silver in color jeep traveling eastbound on State Highway 29 from mile marker 87. Stanley officer located a vehicle matching the description and observed the vehicle deviate from its designated lane and cross the white fog line several times. Traffic stop was made and the driver, 66-yearold Lyle Schuster, was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Report to follow.
9:51 p.m. Report received of a man who reported being assaulted by another man while at Reclaimed Tavern.
10:40 p.m. Police were requested to respond to the motel for a noise complaint.
July 10 11:36 a.m. Stanley police were requested for a disturbance in the City of Stanley. A man was arrested and transported to the Chippewa County Jail as a result. Report to follow.
8:49 p.m. Police requested for a fireworks complaint.
July 11 4:37 a.m. Police were requested for a noise complaint at the motel.
11:14 a.m. Contact was attempted with a woman at a residence regarding victim notification with no answer received at the door. Information was passed along to jail staff.
2:08 p.m. A woman was reported to be sending and posting pictures of cutting her wrist to a social media page. Upon arrival it was determined that there were no injuries and the woman was merely trying to get the attention of her husband. There was no emergency and the woman was warned for her actions.
7:40 p.m. Police responded to a vehicle lockout request. A vehicle lockout form was completed and the vehicle was opened without issue.
9:44 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation. The driver was warned. 9:58 p.m.
A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation with the result that Diego Vasquez-Ramirez, age 34, was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a license.
11:48 p.m. Vehicle stopped for a moving violation. Amanda Haas, age 39, was cited for non-registration of auto and no proof of insurance. Wayne Beighley, age 29, was arrested on a DOC warrant.
July 12 2:27 a.m. to 3:16 a.m. Three traffic stops were conducted for moving violations and the drivers warned. 3:56 a.m.
Police responded to a report of a deer carcass in the lane of traffic on Highway 29 westbound. The carcass was removed from the roadway.
6:43 a.m. Open 911 call. Upon checking the area where the phone was plotting, officer spoke to an adult woman who advised that her child was playing with the phone and there was no emergency.
7:32 a.m. Young child in diaper located by a neighbor walking without any adult present. The parents were located and reunited with the child a short time later. Chippewa County DHS was notified of the incident. Nothing further.
Rescue personnel from several departments along with a Mayo Clinic helicopter (not shown) were on the scene of what Stanley Police deemed “a single vehicle crash with injury” Monday morning just past 345th Street on Highway 29.
