It may be winter now, but summer is coming soon.
Contained in the council meeting packet for Monday, Jan. 19 were several applications, including some related to summer festivals.
Among them, an application for street use related to the 5k run/walk at the Lions Watermelon Festival, taking place Sunday, July 26 this year. Streets requested for use in the Lions Watermelon Festival 5k run/walk include Chapman Park to east on Eighth Avenue as well as North Broadway from Eighth to 90th Avenue East and back to Chapman Park.
Also included in applications from Jan. 19 is a special event application packet for the Independence Day Celebration, taking place this year on Saturday, July 4. Event set up will take place Thursday and Friday prior to the event, with more information to come as the date nears.
