Taking place at Boyd the weekend of August 12th through the 14th was the Second Annual Team Aubree Softball Tournament. Named for Aubree LeTendre, a girl who died of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), Team Aubree seeks to help raise awareness and money for families with similar situations. The softball tournament is one way to do that.

Starting out Friday night, the Second Annual Softball Tour- nament kicked ou with ball play at Lotz Park at 7 p.m. in Boyd, with three games played before it was time to call it a night in terms of competition.

Returning the next day, game play opened with a match between Boyd Catering and A & A Tire, followed by a game between the team Bad Intentions and the Cadott Red Sox.

With other team contenders including Sophi’s Warriors, ABE Concrete, Country Rednecks, Benson with Batitude and Sons of Pitches, by day’s end the softball tournament bracket had been narrowed down to the final five, with a Lantern Light Ou taking place before it was over for Saturday.

Picking back up Sunday morning at 10 a.m., it was DD’s versus Boyd Catering, the bracket thinning further until it was just the final four: DD's, Bad Intentions, A & A Tire and Team Aubree. Also taking place Sunday were a 5K walk and Chicken Dinner, with the final three teams featured this week with pho tos and names.
