Here’s what post-season play looks like for the Stanley-Boyd Oriole basketball teams.
Right now, the Orioles boys are in second place in the Western Cloverbelt Conference with a 4-1 conference mark and is 4-7 overall after playing some tough non-conference opponents.
With some schools not participating in WIAA Tournament play, the Orioles got bumped up to Division 3 this year.
Regional play will start Feb. 16, with games set for Feb. 19 and the final Feb. 20. Sectional play will take place Feb. 25 for semifinals and Feb. 27 for finals. The higher-seeded team will always have a home game this year. The Oriole regional group also will include Chequamegon, Colby, Neillsvile and Stratford.
A WIAA statement said, “The format, schedule and locations of the State Boys and Girls Basketball Tournaments will be determined at a later date.” The tourney is set for March 4-6.
The Orioles girls basketball team is in Division 3 for post-season play. Regional play is scheduled for Feb. 9, 12 and 13, with Sectionals Feb. 18 and 20. The State Tournament will be held Feb. 25-27.
The Orioles are currently 2-5 in the Western Cloverbelt and 5-7 overall.
In addition to S-B, teams in the Regional grouping include Colby, Neillsville, Osseo-Fairchild and Stratford.
The higher seeded team will host through Sectionals.
