Why Rob Summerfield for State Assembly District 67?

My name is Rob Summerfield, age 42, and I am the incumbent representative for the 67th Assembly District. I’m a lifelong resident of the Chippewa Valley, graduating from Bloomer High School and UW-Stout before owning and operating my small business in Bloomer. I’m a husband and a father of three.

I’m running for re-election because I believe the coming few years might be challenging for the state of Wisconsin and the Chippewa Valley. With the rising cost of living and a shrinking economy, it’s important that our representatives in government understand the needs of our area and know what it’s like to be a business owner and family man. I believe the state government’s role should be to provide the tools that allow our economy and citizens to grow and succeed. Reducing overburdensome regulations, adjusting our state’s tax climate, and prioritizing rural areas in the economic development of the state will allow the Chippewa Valley and the state of Wisconsin as a whole to be a more business-friendly state. Personally, I have and will continue to prioritize broadband expansion, providing tax relief to families and businesses, and streamlining government in order to boost our state’s economy.

I believe that my experience as your state representative for the last three terms gives me a unique perspective and expertise in how to most effectively represent the 67th Assembly District. Throughout my time in the legislature, I have served on 11 different committees with several leadership positions. I have served as the Chair for the Committee on Housing and Real Estate as well as the Committee on Science, Technology and Broadband. I also served as the Vice-Chair for the Committee on International Affairs and Commerce as well as the Committee on Health. Additionally, I have been on the Speaker’s Task Force on Water Quality and I am currently serving as the Vice-Chair for the Legislative Council Study Committee on the Commercial Building Permitting Process. As my record shows, I have had the opportunity to take a deep dive into many areas that greatly affect the state of Wisconsin.

As a lifelong resident of this area, I know the challenges we face every day. I have been a strong advocate for the Chippewa Valley since I was elected, and I intend to continue- that- fightF- The- comingyears could be very challenging for the state, but I believe that I can represent our community’s families and businesses in Madison well and make our voices heard
