The Community Foundation out of Chippewa County was in town Friday to present two checks, one to the Stanley Community Association to be used towards tornado relief and another to the Stanley Police Department towards radio communication upgrades at the department.
Executive director Jill Herriges came from the Chippewa Fallsbased non-profit to present the awards, made at the Stanley Police Department building and City Hall, at 353 South Broadway Street.
With Herriges saying that Con-Agra had granted a $20,000 donation specifically for the tornado and local efforts, the Community Foundation of Chippewa County itself exists to help make endowed gifts to local organizations within the County and also to make “appropriate and relevant grants, both restricted and unrestricted, to qualified organizations,” as stated on its website at yourlegacyforever.org. The Response, Recovery, and Rebuild fund managed by the Foundation was set up in particular to serve crisis situations in the county.
More information on the Community Foundation can be found at its website, working as it does to create, build, and manage endowment funds that benefit county residents.
