The D.R. Moon Memorial Public Library is excited to announce that we are able to expand our school outreach program thanks to a generous grant we have received, funded in part from Wisconsin Humanities, with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities. Wisconsin Humanities strengthens the roots of community life through educational and cultural programs that inspire civic participation and individual imagination. With this funding, we will be able to reach at least twice as many rural schools, and the grant relieves the library of part of the financial burden for this ambitious program. We are so excited to see where we can take this program into the future.
Any views, findings, conclusions or recommendations expressed in this project do not necessarily represent those of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Additionally, we have also received two grants from the Response-Recovery-Rebuild Fund through the Community Foundation of Chippewa County. The Community Foundation is an invaluable leader in philanthropic giving and organization and a true asset to the Chippewa Falls area. With the grants we have received through the Response-Recovery-Rebuild Fund, the D.R. Moon Memorial Library will be able to help bridge the physical and digital divides facing our community, which the current pandemic has exacerbated. We are expanding our home-delivery program and starting a program to offer Wi-Fi hotspots and iPads to families and individuals without reliable internet access.
