Thorp Aquatic Center announces season’s end and Special Family Float Night

Posted

As summer winds down, the Thorp Aquatic Center has announced its final day of operation for the 2025 season will be Saturday, August 24. The pool’s schedule will be adjusted in the final days due to limited staffing, as lifeguards and team members return to high school, college, and other job commitments.
From August 18 to August 21, the facility will be open for afternoon swims from 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. In the final stretch, August 22 and August 23, hours will extend from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to give families one last splash before the summer ends. On the final day, August 24, the pool will be open from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
In a brand-new event sure to make a splash, the pool will host its first-ever Family Float Night on Tuesday, August 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. While pool floats are normally not allowed, this special evening will let swimmers enjoy the water on inflatable tubes and toys—as long as they’re purchased on-site. Carry-in floats will not be permitted, but floats will be available for purchase at the pool, ranging from $2 to $6, with 100% of proceeds benefiting the Pool Repair Fund. To sweeten the evening, root beer floats will also be sold at the concession stand for just $3.
To help send off the season in style, the Thorp Aquatic Center is hosting a “Last Splash Party” on Thursday, August 22, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. The event will feature music, food, competitions, and prizes, offering fun for all ages. Admission is just $1 for patrons who do not have a season pass or punch card.
The Thorp Aquatic Center encourages everyone to make the most of the final weeks. Whether it’s enjoying an afternoon swim, joining the party, or floating under the summer sky, there’s still time to soak in the fun before the season comes to a close.
