On Tuesday, April 14th, the Thorp Area RC Club had their Spring Meeting before starting operations for the season. Hosted by Keith Marshall, owner of the Marshall RC Park at N14347 Fisher Avenue in Thorp, we met and had a good and brief meeting. We were pleasantly surprised by a guest from the Wausau area! RC Hobby Ambassador, Mike Carson, stopped by to see if he could lend a hand!
We had a new family in attendance at the meeting! And we had a good look at Keith Marshall’s large collection of hobby items over his decades involved. Mr. Carson spoke on a number of fronts, including potential future events and how we can help more people get a taste of the hobby! We have a lot of potential for events and lot of room to grow! Mike Carson brought a new plane long that he had assembled with a group of children at an event in Wausau. It is an E-Flite “Crescendo” glider, and went together very readily for them. When they were done building the plane, all of the children in attendance added their signature to it!
In the end, our new club night was decided to be on Sundays, starting at either 5 p.m. or 6 p.m. Please follow us on Facebook at Thorp Area RC Club for more information and the most news we can get! There, you can also see us following Mike Carson at RC Plane Mike on Facebook, too! The season is still early and more can be added to our club! Feel free to reach out either through Facebook, or come see Mark Tobola at Hank’s Furniture & Carpeting in Thorp for more information!”
