Newly appointed supervisor Calvin Schultze opened his first Town of Thorp Board meeting on September 10 with optimism.
“I’m still getting my feet wet here,” Schultze remarked as the meeting got underway.
At the Wednesday evening meeting, board members set the date and fees for this year’s community tire collection. The event will be held Friday, October 4, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the following fees: $6.00 for car tires, $7.00 for light truck tires, $20.00 for larger truck and semi tires, $12.00 for skid-steer tires, and $40.00 and up for tractor tires (depending on size).
The board also voted to purchase a new outdoor drop box for the town hall. Residents will be able to use the box to drop off payments at their convenience, providing an option outside of regular office hours.
