On Saturday, May 22, the Osseo community came together to dedicate a new bandstand in Central Park. Garber Bandshell was dedicated to Dr. Bradley Garber, a local physician for over 50 years, who participated in many community endeavors, especially music, as he played the drums in local bands and orchestrates. Despite the pandemic, $50,000 was raised locally for the construction of the band shell.

The Arcadia school nurse reported to teh school board at
their May meeting that the district experienced 143 confirmed
cases of COVID-19 during the school year, with 35 being staff and 108 being students. +++ The Arcadia School District is projecting a surplus of approximately $310,000 and $350,000.
Plans are to redirect the funds to help pay for a bus purchase, updating lighting in the high school auditorium, and blacktop for additional staff parking near the elementary school. +++ The Hi-Crush sand mine in Whitehall has been put up for sale and will be sold via online bidding.

Here’s dedication! Donna Baetsch is retiring after 46 years of service at the Cochrane-Fountain City School District. She covered so many responsibilities that the district is hiring two people to replace her. Among the hats she either wears, or has worn, over the years are secretary, technology guru, coach and bus driver. She was always up to any challenge according to her bosses and district staff. She is known for her caring attitude towards staff and students, as well as for her dedication to all the tasks she was involved with.
