Trick or Treat hours have been set at Boyd, the village board opting at its October meeting to set Trick or Treat for Oct. 31 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Motion to approve trick or treat hours was made by Trustee Josh Walters and seconded by Village President Bob Geist.
Also in trick or treat news, the second Annual Candy Crawl is coming to downtown Stanley Friday, Oct. 31.
Taking place from 3 to 5 p.m., the Candy Crawl will include participating businesses with a “Stanley” in their window, otherwise described as “the placard that shows you are participating in the Business trick or treating event.”
A map will be provided to those making their way up and down Broadway to collect treats. Participants are asked to wear their best Halloween costume and use #STANLEYCANDYCRAWL to share their haul on social media.
Maps for Candy Crawl are available on the City of Stanley website at www.ci.stanley.wi.gov as well as the City of Stanley Facebook page.
As for residential trick or treat hours at Stanley, those seeking additional candy Oct. 31 have from 5 to 7 p.m. to fan out across the city, with those households dispensing candy asked to signify this by leaving their house light on.
For those who just can’t wait, the Stanley Community Association will host its fifth annual Trunk or Treat, due to take place in Chapman Park on Saturday, Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Trunk or Treat is Oct. 25 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Chapman Park,” Stanley Community Association President Kristi Weiland said. “We will be doing the Stuff The Trunk again where people can bring nonperishable food items, personal hygiene items, or monetary donations for the Stanley-Boyd Food Pantry.”
The SCA is also working to set up a Halloween dance party that would include music, with residents also able to set up a trunk for treats at the event.
“This year we are allowing residents to also set up for a trunk,” Weiland said. “This is perfect for people that live where they don’t get many trick or treaters or people who aren’t home on Halloween but like to see all the kids in their costumes. Businesses, organizations or residents interested in signing up can do so on our website, stanleycommunity.us or our Facebook page.”
