Stanley, Wisconsin has a new zoning administrator: Mayor Ben Wald.
The news comes after a special council meeting after the regular meeting Monday, May 4, in which the said appointment was the only item of business, after agenda approval.
Motion was made by Alderperson Therese Metzger, seconded by Mark Fitzsimmons to approve Wald’s effective self appointment as city zoning administrator. The move fills a post left vacant when the city terminated the city administrator, who had filled the post. Wald will answer to the council as zoning administrator, with the position involving another title but no extra pay.
The move by the council to appoint Wald to the post allows for such things as approval of building permits in the building inspector’s absence, but does not affect the building inspector post.
The zoning administrator was left vacant in previous appointments approved after the April 20 regular council meeting
