This week, we are thrilled to recognize Landon Ewer as the Courtesy Auto & Truck Stanley Boyd Athlete of the Week! A junior on the Orioles varsity baseball team, Ewer has been making notable contributions both on and off the field.
From a young age, Ewer has been passionate about baseball, inspired by his dad to pick up the glove and bat. "I’ve played baseball for as long as I can remember," he reflects. His dedication to the sport is evident, especially when he shares that each year brings unique challenges, which he tackles by focusing on improvement and hard work.
What resonates most with Ewer is the camaraderie he shares with his teammates: "I love everything about the sport and being able to play it with my friends." This year, he aims to enhance his leadership skills, aspiring to guide his teammates effectively.
A standout moment in Ewer's career came during last season's playoffs when the team run-ruled Regis in their first playoff game. "That was definitely a highlight for me," he recalls.
His journey in baseball has been greatly supported by his parents, who have been his biggest inspirations. "My Mom and Dad have supported and inspired me throughout my baseball journey," he notes. Looking ahead, Ewer hopes to continue his baseball career after high school, demonstrating his commitment to the sport.
Head Coach Ryan Sturm praises Ewer's contributions to the team, stating, "Great attitude, hard worker, best player on the team. Great role model for the rest of the team."
Congratulations, Landon! Your hard work and positive spirit make you an invaluable member of the Stanley Boyd Orioles baseball team. We look forward to watching you excel as the season progresses!
