Want to avoid a ticket?
Put a brake on it! More specifically, put a brake on it between the Fandry Park ball fields and Carter Road west of town, where the speed limit has officially dropped from 35 to 25 miles per hour. Approved by the city months ago but requiring county review due to also being County Highway O, the speed limit for Fourth Avenue is now official.
The Stanley Police Department shared more in a statement last week:
“After having recently been approved by Chippewa County, the speed limit on West Fourth Avenue/County Highway O around the areas of Fandry Park and Chapman Park in the City of Stanley has officially been reduced from 35 miles per hour to 25 miles per hour.
“New signage was installed by the Chippewa County Highway Department earlier today to reflect the change. The speed limit for both eastbound and westbound traffic is now 25 miles per hour from the intersection of North Broadway Street/County Highway O, west to the intersection of West Eighth Avenue.
The sign posts will be flagged in the near future to help bring additional attention for motorists.”
In the meantime, watch your speed.
