The Boyd Area Chamber of Commerce met Tuesday, June 9 at 5:30 at Conley’s Hill House. After President Zais called the meeting to order the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. First on the agenda was the Treasurer’s report. Ringelspiel did very well, with Saturday night being the biggest night. The entire weekend showed a profit which will help to fund upcoming events. Many good comments were received about the award winning Queens float, which was recently redecorated, and had it’s first showing during the Ringelspiel Days parade. There was a lot of good feedback regarding Ringelspiel Days as a whole. Bands for next year were discussed and members will reach out to check availability and prices. Any suggestions for improving Ringelspiel 2027 are welcome.
Next up was the annual fireworks show in Boyd, which is co-sponsored by the Boyd Little League, Boyd Chamber and local businesses. We are in contact with the fireworks provider and hope to finalize plans this week. The date for the show will be Thursday, July 2 after the little league games. Concessions will be available in the park in conjunction with the ball games.
The remainder of the meeting involved discussing the annual Corn Feed which is being held on Friday, August 14 beginning around 5p.m. As in past years, the main street of Boyd will be blocked off for free corn on the cob, and bouncy houses from Wisconsin Fun Factor. Tom from Reclaimed Tavern in Stanley will provide DJ fun, Kevin’s Balloons will be on hand, as well as free tattoos from Tru Touch of Beauty, the fishpond sponsored by Conley’s Hill House, and possibly a photo board. Live music will be provided by Virginia Steele later in the evening. St. Joes food wagon will be on hand, and possibly Tessy’s popcorn and Martino’s Pizza Truck. Warm Wisconsin will also be there. Last year Warm Wisconsin provided snow cones, and it’s hoped they will do the same again this year. There will also be a free bike drawing. We’re also looking into a car show and a climbing wall. WEAU may do a live report from the corn feed at their 6 p.m. newscast. Any organization that wishes to be part of the Corn Feed festivities may contact Cory Zais.
The next meeting will be held July 14 at 6 p.m. at Lotz Park, weather permitting, or at a site to be determined. Plans for the Corn Feed will be finalized and bands for the 2027 Ringelspiel Days discussed, among other agenda items. If anyone has questions regarding the Chamber or the events they sponsor, they are encouraged to contact Cory Zais, Jess Conley, Teresa Isensee or any Chamber member.
