The Stanley-Boyd Orioles football team fell to Mondovi 48-20 on Thursday, Sept. 17. The game moved up for rain saw touchdowns by Max Acker, Jesse Allard and Porter Goettl, with an extra point field goal scored by Allard.
Mondovi took control early, scoring 21 points in the opening quarter before adding 20 more in the second to carry a 41-6 advantage into halftime.
Returning from halftime , the Orioles put together two touchdowns, one with less than a minutes in the third quarter and another in the fourth, with two extra points by Allard to bring the score 41-20. Mondovi added seven points in the final period to produce the 48-20 final.
As for game stats, Oriole quarterback Porter Goettl completed 6 of 12 passes for 84 yards and a touchdown. Goettl also contributed on the ground, rushing for 32 yards and a touchdown.
Max Acker led the Stanley-Boyd rushing attack with 77 yards on 11 carries and scored one touchdown. Jesse Allard provided the Orioles’ biggest play in the passing game, recording a 48-yard touchdown reception.
Defensively, Ryan Bowe led Stanley-Boyd on defense with eight total tackles.
Curently 0-5 for the season, Stanley-Boyd now faces Auburndale on Friday, Sept. 25 at Auburndale High School. Game start is 7 p.m.
