The Stanley-Boyd Oriole varsity is on a roll.
Facing Cadott on Thursday, Sept. 24, the Orioles came away with a 3-0 win with match scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-13. The team followed with a 3-1 win against Fall Creek Sept. 29 and a 3-0 win against Bloomer Oct. 2.
Coach Karley Wiensch shared more after results.
“Cadott is a very scrappy team and does not give up on the ball until the whistle is blown, she said. “They have a young team and will be competitive for the next years to come.”
Following the 3-0 win with a home match against Fall Creek Tuesday, Sept. 29, the Orioles came away 3-1 against the Crickets, with match scores of 22-25, 25-15, 25-10, 25-16.
“We played well as a team vs Fall Creek,” Wiensch said. “We were fighting some illnesses and a migraine during the 1st set that we dropped. We came together after that and played for each other and played very well and stuck to the game plan.”
Finishing recent play with an away contest at Bloomer on Thursday, Oct. 2, the Orioles came away with a 3-0 victory versus the Blackhawks, with match scores of 25-15, 29-27, and 25-12.
“When we played Bloomer, we started out controlling the game,” Wiensch said. “In the second set we were behind 24-22 and ended up coming back and winning set 2. We battled the whole second set and then came out with a 3-0 victory over Bloomer.”
The Orioles now face Elk Mound at Elk Mound on Thursday, Oct. 8. Start time is 7 p.m.
