The Orioles cross country team competed at the Owen-Withee Invite on Sept 29. The girls team took first place and the boys second out of 11 teams. Medalists for the Orioles were Vaida Chwala, Mariah Wehling, Aaliyah Prissel, Lucy Wundrow, and Haylee Shakal, John Smit, Hunter Ogle and Cameron Natzke. Smit was first overall in the boys race and Chwala and Ogle fourth overall in their races. “Besides placing well we are running good times at the right time of the season. The conference meet is about two weeks away and our times keep getting faster and we are avoiding injuries and feeling good. A few kids are getting the cold, but they should be over it and able to run their best races here at the end.” Coach Mahr commented.
