Shifting briefly into the away game runup to Friday, it didn't go so well for the girls softball team, with 'early leads": by Neillsville and Loyal closing out these games 17 – 3 and 10 – 4, in the Oriole opponent's favor. A similar event took place Friday May 14 against Osseo-Fairchild, in which the Orioles came away with the lesser score of 4 – 6. Maybe it prepared them to come back Friday–that's a lot of bases to steal.
