Voters need to try to vote early

Posted

Even though polling places will be open on Election Day, voters are urged in Stanley to avoid polling places and vote absentee at City Hall drive-thru or by mail instead, if possible.

“We want everyone who is eligible and who wants to vote to be able to do so safely. Absentee voting will greatly reduce crowds at polling places on Election Day, which will make social distancing much easier,” said clerk Cindi Bergman.

Voters can also drop off absentee ballots at City Hall drive-thru, night drop box or at Stanley’s polling location.

Voters can find their polling place online at https://myvote.wi.gov/enus/ FindMyPollingPlace.

For Voters that are unable to vote absentee, the following measures will be taken to ensure voter and poll worker safety.

– If you are not feeling well on Election Day, please stay home.

– Upon entering the polling place please maintain “social distancing” 6’ spacing.

– Voters will be issued pens for signing the poll book and for voting. If voter is using the touch screen a disposable Q-Tip will be offered to use on the screen.

– Pens will be deposited into a box near the exit.

– Poll workers will sanitize surfaces that are touched in the polling place several times that day.
