A teacher can shape a life forever and influence the course of a student for many years to come. Teachers look past their own needs and give of themselves to enhance the lives of their students. Mrs. Brandy Pecha, a twenty-five-year-old Middle and High School Special Education Teacher, is one Stanley’s finest. After graduating from Cornell High School, Pecha went on to attend the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire which she graduated from in the fall of 2020. In 2023, she obtained her certification for Driver's Education Instruction.
Brandy married Tyler Pecha, a foreman for Cloverbelt Construction in Cadott, three years ago and together they reside in Stanley. A little-known fact about Brandy is that she was married during Covid and because of travel restrictions her honeymoon to the Dominican was cancelled. But her disappointment quickly turned to excitement as Brandy and her husband soon welcomed their daughter, Reagan, to their new family. Brandy is now mom to two little ones, Reagan, two and a half years old, and Callum, six months, who completely changed her life. When asked what her family likes to do together, Pecha shares, “Spending time together. it doesn’t really matter what. Anything to get outside.” She shares that her family loves the outdoors and spending time outside together exploring in the woods and land they own north of Stanley. Pecha enjoys things that challenge her and explains that her favorite subject in school was Math because “numbers intrigue me.” Brandy, a romantic at heart, loves watching romantic comedies but her taste in music is more varied and includes, country or older rock, like Bon Jovi and Guns N’ Roses. She also loves to watch and cheer on her favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers! One of Brandy’s favorite vacations was after her high school graduation when she went on a cruise to Hawaii with her dad and approximately sixty members of the close-knit Stanley Sno-Chargers, who Pecha has been a member of for fifteen years.
Pecha, who is currently a Stanley resident, chose to work at Stanley-Boyd school for its close proximity and convenience to home and the supportive community atmosphere. Pecha’s goals for her fourth year of teaching include, “building the connections with the students that I have.” She hopes for more personal connections as her caseload will be smaller at Stanley-Boyd. The hardest challenge she has faced is helping students through tough situations at home as they navigate their homelife. Pecha mentions that she has always wanted to be a teacher and her high school freshman teacher, Ryan Weed, was a big inspiration to her teaching career. “I dealt with a lot of things when I was a kid. I had one teacher I could rely on constantly so just being able to be that for students and being that adult figure in their lives that they can count on and go to for anything.” Pecha is ready for the new school year. She says, “I am excited to make connections with my students and their families.” Welcome to Stanley-Boyd, Mrs. Pecha!
