Winter Barley and Winter Rye Field Event June 13

The Division of Extension UW-Madison offices of Barron and Chippewa County are hosting a Winter Barley and Rye grain and cover crop casual field event June 13 from 10:30am to noon at the Jim Pingel farm located three miles west of New Auburn on County Highway M. The field event will focus on winter barley and winter rye as cover crops and as potential grain commodities. A winter barley variety trial held in partnership with the University of Minnesota is available for viewing at the field event.
Join Extension Regional Crops and Soils Educators Becky Brathal, Barron, Pierce, St. Croix Counties and Jerry Clark, Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire counties as they lead discussion and viewing of winter barley and winter rye cropping systems.
