Work began in earnest last week at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Boyd, with workers from Cutting Edge Drilling and Sawing starting the process of removing the old front steps in
preparation for a new enclosed entryway with stairs and elevator. Timed to coincide with the Patten Street Rebuild, the new entryway will allow for street level entrance for the church and basement once complete, also preserving the original stonework above the front doors. Sunday
Mass will be transferred to Holy Family Church in Stanley during renovation, with those attending Tuesday and Friday Masses at St. Joseph Church instructed to use the west
entrance door. The entryway is expected to be completed near Christmas.
