Taking to the road this past week, the Stanley-Boyd Orioles headed to Thorp, where they faced off individually with Thorp/Owen-Withee and Abbotsford-Colby in a triangular Jan. 26. Oriole wrestling coach Greg Burzynski shared his thoughts when it was done.

“The duals at Thorp went as expected,” he said. “We won some matches that I knew would be close in the Abby dual. Damien and Dylan Seichter had some good wins for us in that dual. Damien came from behind and pinned his opponent and avenged an early season loss to him. Overall, I thought we wrestled well Thursday night. Now the focus is on getting guys healthy and competing at a high level at the conference tournament this weekend.”

As to individual results against each team, here are some highlights.

Against Abbotsford-Colby:

Dylan Seichter won by fall (0:00) over Martinez Erik in the 182-pound weight class.

Willy Graham won by fall over Levi Dommer of Abbotsford-Colby in the 220-pound weight class. Damien Seichter won by fall over Ricardo Nava Rojas of Abbotsford-Colby in the 285-pound weight class.

Aaron Sturm won by fall over Christian Sanchez of Abbotsford-Colby in the 145-pound weight class.

Against Thorp/Owen-Withee: Willy Graham won over Wyatt Wulff in the 220-pound weight class.

Justin McManus won over Steven Williams in the 120-pound weight class.

Aaron Sturm won over Connor Simington in the 145-pound weight class.

Caiden Paul won over Colin Dallman 152-pound weight class.
