The Stanley-Boyd Alumni Association held a meeting on Monday, April 4, and planning is again in process for the 2022 All School Reunion to be held on Saturday, October 1. Alumni will again gather at the Stanley-Boyd High School gym for the annual event. President Ken Seufzer called the meeting to order at 10 am with 11 board members in attendance. Adam Smit, of Adam Smit Investment Management, was in attendance to again review the Scholarship Investment Fund held with his firm. Investments in the fund to date have been $45,000, with $20,000 having been added to the corpus due to the success of the 2021 fund drive and successful reunion.

Following Smit, Dave Jankoski, SBAA Acting Treasurer presented the Annual Fiscal Year Report for January-December 2021. He noted that at the end of Fiscal Year 2021, the checking account balance was $11,465.76 and the Scholarship Investment Fund was at $53,965.50. He also provided a report covering the first quarter of 2022. Both fi nancial reports were approved as presented. Following the treasurer’s report, the minutes prepared by Secretary Eileen Stangret Samplawski, from the November 8 meeting were unanimously approved.

Barb Endvick Johnson presented information related to the Master Directory. She is current on updating address information from last year’s donors. Any class with updated information can contact Barb at 530-205-6665. Regretfully, there is still information missing on a number of classes who have no person(s) keeping track of their classmates addresses.

Committee Chair, Kim Witt Nelson, provided a report on the status of the Silent Auction, a large fundraising tool of the reunion. The past work of Marion Voytovich Walsdorf, related to the auction was acknowledged, with the realization that she will be greatly missed. Kim has the workers basically organized and all is a go. President Seufzer and John Pozdell will again be in the parades in Boyd and Stanley advertising the Alumni Association and the All School Reunion.

The Class of 1962 will be hosting the 2022 Reunion this year. Barb Endvick Johnson, assured the Board that they are going to be ready with a work force. Diane LaMarche Halterman was also present as an observer for the Class of 1963, who will host the reunion in 2023.

The Alumni Association will again be giving three $1,500 scholarship this year. Students interested in applying should see the S-B Guidance Counselor for application information. In another business item, it was voted to place $100 in the Scholarship Fund in memory of Marian Walsdorf. It was announced that this year the reunion will be catered by Boyd Catering, with the menu consisting of two entrees – beef and chicken. Due to the increase in food prices, the need to pay a school kitchen staff person and partly pay for a janitor, registration is being raised to $30 per person.

President Seufzer lead the group in a review of the Reunion Work Plan with all activities noted as pretty well covered. Earlier in the meeting, Seufzer read a resignation letter from Jim Reppert, Class of 1959 and then noted the presence of Audrey Smoczyk Folczyk, Class of 1973, who was voted to the Board of Directors. It is noted that Jean Geist Rygiel, will be serving as Vice-President and Rose Wellner Ebert will become treasurer, with both positions in transition currently.

Honorary recognition’s are again being planned for three individuals. It was announced that anyone that needs copying to be done needs to get it to Dave Jankoski for copying by June 12, to assure having them available for the next meeting to be held on July 11 at 10 a. m., when approximately 2000 invitations for the 2022 Reunion will be prepared for mailing.

The Board is excited and looking forward to be greeting alumni attending the 2022 Reunion.
