One hundred twelve bowlers met at Tolley’s Bowl and Bar on March 11, March 12 and March 13 to compete in the 22nd annual 9-Pin tap sponsored by the Stanley and Boyd American Legion and VFW. This tournament is held to raise funds for the Stan- ley-Boyd high school senior scholarships. The five top bowlers, Dave Johnson, March Schmidt, Jeff Kenaly, Erin Bowen Brazel and Phil Ruzic were awarded cash prizes.
Don Tollefson, Tom Tollefson, Renee Dauphin, Chris Hass, Bob Kiraly, Steve Isens, Tom Fredrickson and Dave Johnson rolled 300 games.
The following local merchants in our area donated cash to help promote the tournament: Plombon’s Funeral Home, May’s Auto, Westaby Trucking, Marine Credit Union, Red Wing Cabinets, Northwestern Bank and Cloverleaf Farm Supply.
The merchants listed following donated prizes for the raffles held: DJ’s Mart, Stacy’s Auto Repair, Boyd Feed and Supply, Haas Inc., Thorp Courier, J & J Sports Bar and Grill, Diane’s Back 40, 1881 Nutrition, D& J Farm Supply, Reclaimed Tavern, Boyd Hardware, Advanced Auto, Thorp Equipment, American Family Insurance, Boyd Catering, Crescent Tavern, Precision Tire and Auto Repair, Thorpedo Diner.
Also donating prizes were Sugar John Syrup, Courtesy Ford, Visions Salon, River Country Cenex, Reit’s Garden Center, Han- sen's IGA, Martino's Restaurante, Otter Lake Gold Honey, Foxx Den, Curve Inn, LaGrander's Cheese, Kelly Grill, The Frog Hop, Dahm's Sugar Bush, Timeless Gems, Lube Suppliers, Aroma Florist, Ele’s Florist, Kwik Trip.
We also received prizes donated by Highway X Guns and Ammo, Modern Beauty Salon, Fast Lane Detailing, Village Haus, Cindy’s Bar, Pet Pantry Plush, Chilson’s Automotive, Forward Bank, Stanley Tire, Yellowstone Cheese, HTV Hardware, Marieke Gouda, Maple Hill Tavern, DD Tavern, Bob’s Barber Shop, Drywood Tavern, Jim’s Shady Nook, Bliss Salon, Envy Salon, Boondock’s Saloon and Grill, Spooner Mills, Kim Gundlach and John Bowen Brazel.
